10-Day Desert Tour from Marrakech to Fes
Experience the best of Morocco on this 6-day journey from Marrakech to Fes through the Sahara Desert.
This tour combines the highlights of the 4-day desert adventure with an extended route to the north — passing through palm valleys, mountain towns, and cultural treasures until you reach the imperial city of Fes.
Day 1:
Marrakech – Ouarzazate
Depart from Marrakech in the morning and travel across the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 meters). We visit the legendary Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its ancient architecture and rich cinematic history. We then continue our journey to Ouarzazate, where we will explore the Atlas Film Studios and the Taourirt Kasbah.
Overnight stay in Ouarzazate.
Day 2:
Ouarzazate – Dades Valley – Tinghir – Merzouga

Travel through the beautiful Valley of Roses (Kelaat M’Gouna) and the stunning Dades Valley before visiting the spectacular Todra Gorge in Tinerhir.
By the evening, we reach the edge of the Sahara Desert in Merzouga, where the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi await you.
Dinner and overnight stay in a riad near the sand dunes.
Day 3:
Merzouga Desert Adventure
Spend your day enjoying desert adventures — quad biking, camel riding, and sandboarding.
Ride a camel at sunset to the desert camp, where you will enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, Berber music around the fire, and a peaceful night under a star-filled sky.
Day 4:
Nomad Experience & 4x4 Excursion
After breakfast, set off on a 4×4 excursion to visit nomadic families living in the desert, and explore hidden oases and fossil sites. Learn about the authentic desert lifestyle before returning to Merzouga for the overnight stay.
Day 5:
Merzouga – Midelt – Ifrane – Fes
After breakfast, we leave Merzouga and begin our scenic journey north toward Fes (around 500 km).
Along the way, we’ll pass through the Ziz Valley with its impressive palm groves, Errachidia, and stop in Midelt for lunch.
Continue driving through the Middle Atlas Mountains, visiting the ski resort of Michlifen and the charming town of Ifrane, often called “the Switzerland of Morocco.”
Arrival in Fes in the evening. Overnight in a traditional riad.
Day 6:
Discover Fes – The Spiritual Heart of Morocco
After breakfast, we explore the magnificent city of Fes with a local guide.
We visit the Royal Palace (Palais Royal) and the famous panoramic viewpoint overlooking the old city.
We discover the University of Al Quaraouiyine — the oldest university in the world — and explore the traditional leather tanneries of Chouara, which make Fes truly unique.
Enjoy wandering through the narrow streets of the medina, full of history, colors, and authentic craftsmanship.
Spend another night in Fes to relax and enjoy the magical atmosphere of the city.
Day 7:
Fez-Chefchaouen
On this day, we leave the historic city of Fes and head toward the enchanting blue city of Chefchaouen.
We travel through lively landscapes and serene mountain scenery, beginning a peaceful journey to our destination. Once you arrive in Chefchaouen, you can explore its famous blue streets and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere, followed by an overnight stay.
Day 8:
Chefchaouen-Tangier
We start our morning in the beautiful city of Chefchaouen, then head north to Tetouan to discover its unique blend of Andalusian and Moroccan culture.
From there, we continue our journey to Tangier, where we visit Mohammed V Square before heading to Cape Spartel, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea.
The day concludes with a visit to the legendary Hercules Cave, one of Tangier’s most famous landmarks.
Day 9:
Tangier-Rabat-Casablanca
Depart from Tangier toward the capital, Rabat, where we will explore the Oudaya Kasbah overlooking the ocean, then the famous Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V.
We will also pass by the Royal Palace to admire its architecture and gardens. The day concludes in Casablanca, where a blend of modern city life and coastal charm awaits.
Day 10:
Casablanca-Marrakech
Our final day begins with a visit to the majestic Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest and most magnificent mosques in the world, located right on the Atlantic coast.
We then continue to Mohammed V Square, the vibrant heart of Casablanca, known for its fountains and elegant architecture. Before departing, we enjoy a relaxing moment at Miami Beach, taking in ocean views and the refreshing coastal breeze.
After these visits, we depart for Marrakech to conclude our journey.
